A day trip to Launceston always begins with an early start but this did not detract from the performances of our very strong team. At the end of competition Hutchins athletes walked away with both the SATIS Senior Boys' Trophy and the Boys' Aggregate Trophy.

The 13th Hutchins Art Prize has been won by a Western Australian artist Thea Costantino for her stunning graphite portraiture, with the prestigious Hill Ross Award going to a haunting piece by high-profile Melbourne Artist Paul White.
A big thank you to all who made it along to Race Day 2013. This year’s event was extremely well supported with over 140 guests in attendance enjoying a meal, catching up with friends and meeting new people from other business networks … as well as having a flutter!
A number of Hutchins students were successful at the recent University of Tasmania Science Investigation Awards. Hutchins had entries from 27 students, from Year 8 through to Year 12. Over 250 students from schools in southern Tasmania were involved. Hutchins students won between them over $2000 worth of prizes.
In July 2005 Hutchins Archivist Margaret Mason-Cox was commissioned to write the 3rd history of The Hutchins School.

From 9-12 September we hosted two members of the Council of International Schools (CIS) for our Preliminary Visit. This is the first step in a 5-stage accreditation process which will see Hutchins become a CIS accredited school.
Over 80 students from 7 countries converged at The Hutchins School over the school holidays to participate in The 9th International Student Science Conference – Science for the 21st Century.
