Years 6–8 and 10–12 uniform

All students are required to wear the correct school uniform. Following is a list of all formal, sport and co-curricular sport uniform items that students require while attending Hutchins.

Trading hours

Midford opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm and Saturdays 10.00am to 1.00pm (with the exception of the Christmas closure). Please note that the Midford store is cashless.

Purchasing online is available at Midford. Parents/carers will need to register. You will require a password to log into the online store. Please contact Midford on 0455 336 214 to acquire the password.

Daily wear

Some flexibility in the selection of summer or winter uniform is allowed. Long grey trousers with school blazer and white shirts (and school jumpers if required) are the usual winter uniform. Tailored grey shorts, with or without school blazer, long socks and long or short-sleeved white shirts are the usual summer uniform. Students may choose to wear either uniform at any time except on specially designated occasions, but it must be one or the other and not a mixture of the two.

  • Grey long trousers with short grey OR black socks
  • Grey shorts with Hutchins grey walk socks
  • White shirt, long OR short-sleeved
  • Black school bag
  • One of the approved styles of hat
  • School tie – Years 6, 7 and 8
  • Senior tie – Years 10, 11 and 12
  • Black jumper with Hutchins logo
  • School blazer – braided for Years 6, 7 and 8
  • Senior black blazer for Years 10, 11 and 12
  • Black leather lace up shoes (boots are not accepted)
  • Standard black belt

Physical Education and Sport

  • Hutchins black shorts with gold piping and Hutchins Lion
  • Hutchins bathers
  • House rugby jumper or House polo shirt
  • Sports shoes with non-marking soles
  • Hutchins football socks OR sport socks
  • Hutchins tracksuit

Notes

Sport uniform for Years 6–8 includes both a black Hutchins polo top and a coloured House polo top. Students change into the House polo top for weekly Sport lessons and also wear this top for House events and carnivals.

Formal uniform and sport uniform must not be combined, e.g. formal uniform cannot be worn with sneakers.

Skins/undergarments are not part of the School uniform and must not be worn to PE lessons or sport carnivals. However if students still wish to wear them to sport training sessions they may. Skins/undergarments must not be worn to games.

Co-curricular sport uniforms

Please note that all items are specific to Hutchins and have the Hutchins crest or another feature that signifies that the student is from Hutchins unless the student has been otherwise advised by the Head of Sport or the School Uniform Store.
