The Hutchins School welcomes BiG Day In Junior
On Thursday 23 May The Hutchins School hosted Tasmania’s first BiG Day In Junior where over 350 students in Years 5 and 6 from nine Tasmanian Schools participated in the ICT careers conference.
Students participated in up to five 50 minute hands on workshops to encourage them to study STEM subjects. Digital creativity, digital literacy, ICT skill development, design thinking and computational thinking are all key aspects of the Australian Curriculum and are the essence of what is fostered by the BiG Day In program.
Workshops were presented by representatives from Google, Apple, Adobe, Buzzy Games, Coder College, F1 In Schools, Handbuilt Creative, Me3D, SMART Tech, UTAS, Solar Buddy, ACS and Wisetech Global where all students were blown away by the enormous power of technology!
