The 175 Tree

Mr Hugh Miller, Mr Stephen Coventry, Mr Richard Davies and Kindergarten boys

On Thursday 20 May, our Grounds Co-ordinator, Mr Hugh Miller and some Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten boys planted a tree on the bank of the Barrie Irons Oval as part of our 175 anniversary celebrations.

Mr Miller told the boys what kind of tree they were planting, how tall it would grow, and helped them dig in the tree and water it. The Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten boys have been learning about autumn and the School’s history this term, and had a lovely time planting the cork oak (Quercus suber).

The boys were all very excited to think how tall the tree would be and how tall they would be by the time they finish school at the end of Year 12!
