Magenta and Blacker 2021
What a night! On Friday 20 August we held our visual and performing arts event Magenta and Blacker. It was a magical evening of art, performances, and installations by our students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. The atmosphere created was spectacular with families coming together to celebrate all of our talented students.
After walking through the mist covered, colourfully lit gates, attendees entered a terrace of light towers where children were playing with the light sticks that once held their fairy floss. The combination of sugar and colourful bubbles streaming out of machines made for a lot of fun. The bubbles reflecting the bright swirling coloured lights from above as they drifted into the night air. It was great to see Middle and Senior School drama productions on stage with large groups of Junior School boys sitting in front transfixed by the performances. This event featured delicious food stalls, the Zeemalah Bar, hundreds of student art works and live music performances (standing room only) on display.
A big thank you and congratulations to Michelle Weeding and the organisers of Magenta and Blacker. We would like to thank all of our wonderful parent/carer volunteers and support groups who helped to make the evening such a great success. A very special thank you to the amazing Art staff and Visual and Performing Arts Team for teaching and preparing all of the student works and drama performances, and the collaboration of the Community Relations Team, Visual and Performing Arts Team and Maintenance crew for creating a magnificent evening for our families to enjoy.
