Hutchins hosts art conference
On 20 June The Hutchins School Art department was delighted to host a two-day visit from twenty primary school Art teachers from Victoria. The teachers enjoyed a marvellous show of work from our Junior School students with some of our students acting as hosts.
They also attended a fascinating workshop in our Art department with internationally acclaimed artist, Katy Woodroffe, whose enthusiasm was infectious. Our visitors were inspired by her work and its applicability to their own teaching practice.
The participants then enjoyed the wonderful weekend that Hobart had to offer during the winter solstice. Gallery visits, the MONA Winter Feast and a trip to the Birches Bay Sculpture Trail capped off a weekend full of inspiration! It was a pleasure to host the group and a real opportunity for Hutchins staff to network with such a high calibre group of educators from Melbourne.
