Giftedness conference: Hutchins teachers present
The Hutchins School’s Head of Student Support Services Jenny Johnston and Teacher at the John Bednall Centre for Learning Support, Adam Palfreyman have recently returned from Dubai where they presented a paper at the Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness.
The biennial conference is supported by the World Giftedness Network; an organisation which fosters an active membership of educators, scholars, researchers and parents interested in the development and education of gifted and talented children. The conference provided an in-depth analysis of the international, regional and country-specific educational development plans for gifted students.
It was an excellent professional development opportunity for Jenny and Adam, with the conference attracting over 3000 delegates from 43 countries. They delivered a presentation on the Gifted and Talented Program at Hutchins and the impact ICT is having on the way we deliver the curriculum. Jenny and Adam are keen to implement many of the programs and strategies which demonstrate best practice in Gifted Education around the world.
