First prize: Hutchins student's national Chinese win
Daniel Larratt (Yr 11) has taken out First Prize in the National Chinese Competition recently held in Melbourne.
Daniel is the first Tasmanian student to win First Prize in the history of national Chinese competitions.
Daniel performed immaculately and stood out among 14 other very competitive contestants, most of whom have far more background in the language and culture.
Following Daniel’s success in the National Competition, other Hutchins contestants also performed brilliantly in the State Competition.

- Third Prize (Cultural Performances) –Cameron Allen, Henry Johnston and Nick Chu (Yr 11)
- Honourable Mention (Advanced Speech and Performances) – Nick Gribble (Yr 11)
