Hutchins students top Tasmania
Earlier this year students from The Hutchins School tested their geographical skills and knowledge against 70,000 students in 760 schools from all over Australia in the 2014 Australian Geography Competition. The results of this competition have recently been announced.
Two students succeeded in recording the highest scores in Tasmania in the Junior and Senior Divisions. Sam Carmichael received a book and a special certificate for being equal first in Tasmania in the Junior Division. Andrew Mackay received a book, special certificate and medallion for being equal first in Tasmania in the Senior Division.
Additionally the following boys earned High Distinctions:
Junior Division (Year 8 students): Hamish Allan, James Anderson, Joseph Bailey, Chisomo Banzi, Henry Chambers, Thomas Davie, Charles Moss and Alexander Hall
Senior Division (Year 12 students): Alexander Bessell, William Fisher, Lachlan Grueber, William Heyward and William Terry.
