On Thursday 11 May 2017 the School hosted an evening with Lisa Darmanin of Waterhouse Darmanin Sailing. Lisa captured our hearts as the 2016 Rio Olympics where she, along with her cousin Jason Waterhouse, won Sailing Silver in the exciting Nacra 17 class.
The Hutchins School Prefects Mother’s Day Breakfast was once again one of our most popular events of the year with over 200 mums, carers, grandmothers, friends, mentors and students in attendance at Burbury House this morning.
On 12 and 13 May we were very excited to host Tasmania’s first State Conference for teachers of Chinese.
On Monday 8 May 2017 we welcomed Mr Bill Toppin (Headmaster 1997–2007), Mr Tan, William and Daisy Yiu from the Piaget Academy in Jakarta.
On 3 May 2017 the ANZAC Day Service was held in the Terence Butler Auditorium to reflect on the courage and bravery that has been shown by those who have served in war.

On 13 April 2017 the oval previously known as the South Oval was officially named the Barrie Irons Oval in honour of retired Deputy Headmaster and Registrar, Mr Barrie Irons.
