On Friday we were honoured to receive a visit from a group of our 1957 leavers. 19 leavers and 14 of their partners organised a weekend to celebrate their 60 year reunion which included a visit to the school.
At just 12 years of age, Sheng-Yuan Lynch, in Year 6 passed the Licentiate in Music, Australia (LMusA) diploma examination on piano with Distinction.
We were thrilled to welcome St Kilda Football Club champion Nick Riewoldt to the school today. Nick is in Hobart for the launch of his book The Things That Make Us: Life, loss and football and addressed our Middle and Senior School students this morning.
Congratulations to Year 12 student Sam Abel who has been successful in gaining the Collegiate Scholarship at Bond University in Queensland for 2018.
Today we were very fortunate to receive a visit from Ruben Meerman – ABC TV Science presenter, children’s science author, and surfing scientist.
Recently a Hutchins team including Koh Kawaguchi, Alex Titchen, Joseph Bailey, Alexander Hall, Tom Davie, Sembeyan Muthu, Harrison Grant, James Pash and Oscar Chau (all Year 11) entered the 2017 Australian Space Design Competition (ASDC).
Congratulations to UTAS medical student and Old Boy Henry West (’11) who has been announced as the latest Tasmanian Rhodes Scholar.
The Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition 2017 awards night were held on 28 September 2017 at the CPA Australia building, Hobart. The Hutchins School was well represented with 2 Individual State Finalists and 5 Group State Finalists, including three students from St Michael’s Collegiate.
This morning record numbers filled the boarding house amidst array of footy colours as fathers and sons came together for the annual Prefects’ AFL Grand Final Breakfast.
