At the Anniversary Lunch held in Burbury House today, the Hutchins School Old Boys’ Association unveiled the Hutchins Lion which is a posthumous award given to honour an Old Boy who has excelled in his chosen field of endeavour.
During the Term 2 holidays, Oscar Chau (Year 12) and Ayden Cousins (Year 11) participated in a two-week international summer camp at the Northeastern Polytechnical University, in the ancient Chinese city of Xi’an.
We were delighted to welcome The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMB as our guest speaker for the 2018 Webber Lecture held on Monday 25 June 2018.
On Tuesday the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten boys invited their Collegiate friends to join them at our school for a special Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
On Tuesday our Junior String Orchestra performed in the Hobart Eisteddfod at the Federation Concert Hall and were awarded winners of the “Year 6 & Under Instrumental or Orchestral Group”.
Recently, The Hutchins School Sailing Academy launched a new initiative to promote sailing in the Junior School.
Last night we acknowledged the contribution of staff members who have given over 15 and 20 years of service to the School.
The “Looking to the Future” Careers expo was held on Tuesday 5 June 2018 at The Hutchins School. Despite the cold weather, we welcomed nearly 500 people, with 45 exhibitors present.
